Being an only child can come with its fair share of advantages.
My whole life i've had people say to me:

"WAATT ur the ONLY child? SOO LUCKY"
"Wahh your parents must spoil you a lot"
"i wish i was the only child!!"

and etc.

My answer: "heh"

From personal experience i don't think its that great to be the only child.
Yeah sure you get the "attention" you need but actually its too much attention.
For better or for worst your the sponge in the family.
You absorb everything and anything your parents say.
It's the worst when they are in a bad mood - EVERYTHING becomes your fault.
and i mean EVERYTHING.

• Why the house is messy...
• why the electricity bill is so high...
• why THEIR stuff (which i did not touch) is missing...
• why they couldnt wake up for an important business meeting...
• why were late to a function...
• why they are stress..
  
  yes everything boils down to me myself and i - the sponge , the little one.
  Its ridiculous.
  When something goes wrong they got no one else to blame so they blame me.
  And im just saying that if you have siblings their stress is divded or even equally shared.
  

In addition to that, parents with only one child expect so much MORE from their kid.
At least if they have a few kids they can depend on a few.
So if i fail i just fail and thats it for my parents you know?
no more chances.

Growing up as the only daughter in this small family of mine, i have to take responsibility of being the oldest child yet the youngest child or even the middle child.
Can you imagine?
At least if i had siblings they can channel their focus on their other kids and leave me and my personal life alone for just a while.
But then again i know some people who have many siblings totally hate it.
They feel stuck in their own way and dont feel enough love or something.
But thats a different story.

So also being the only child, i naturally depend a lot on friends, cousins simply because i dont have any sisters or brothers to entertain.
Gee.. friends come and go. i know so.
But those who have been there for me and understand me - thankyou. i love y'all.
And to my boyfriend who has to put up with my only childness - thankyou i love you dearly.

OK well duty calls, im about to get blamed for why the electricity bill is so effing high.
